CAROL PEEK
'It's About the Feeling'

Over the past three decades, Carol Peek has established herself as one of the preeminent painters of the California landscape -- and the horses, cows, sheep and other creatures that call it home.

"I would drive through these beautiful rolling hills and they inspired me -- the horses and the landscapes," she says. "It's always about the feeling. I will only do a painting because I was moved by something I saw. I only paint what I know."

Carol Peek grew up in Northern California loving horses, drawing and seeing the peacefulness her mother found while painting. She studied at UC Santa Barbara and UC Berkeley before finally heading to Art Center in Pasadena to pursue her true passion. She has exhibited widely while becoming a lifelong student and teacher. In 2021 she received her M.F.A. degree from the Academy of Art in San Francisco.
